The Winnsboro Department of Public Safety was formed in 1986 when the Winnsboro Police Department and Fire Department were combined. We are made up of 26 dedicated Public Safety Officers, 12 Volunteer Firefighters and 3 civilian personnel. We serve the Town of Winnsboro, We provide Police and Fire Services for the Town of Winnsboro. Almost all of our Public Safety Officers are Class 1 Law Enforcement certified. The majority of our Officers are certified to the Firefighter II level. We have the only trained confined space rescue team in Fairfield County. We provide automatic and mutual aid to surrounding fire departments. We also have metro agreements with surrounding county and municipal law enforcement agencies. |
